About Melissa
My self storage journey began as a property manager in 2008. I have 17 years of experience in the self-storage industry having worked my way up from a property manager overseeing the operations of two facilities to taking an integral role in the development of a third party management company. During my time with the company they grew to operating 35 locations across three states.
Today, I work with owner operators in a variety of capacities. From consulting with industry newbies during their new acquisition or development, to conducting facility audits and making recommendations for improvement, to holding employee training sessions, my consulting covers the full range of self storage operations.
I also serve as the Director of both the Tennessee and Louisiana Self Storage Associations and co-host the Gabfocus Webinar with Tommy Nguyen, and the Gabfocus Self Storage Podcast with Josh Huff. I enjoy speaking at national and state tradeshow events and contributing to industry publications. I am always happy to talk with owner operators and managers about their operations.
I live and work out of Chattanooga, TN, am a wife and mother, and love to travel whenever I can.

About Josh
I currently live and work just north of Chattanooga, TN. My primary role is the co-owner of Lighthouse Storage Solutions alongside my wife and business partner Melissa Huff. We specialize in providing practical solutions for the self storage industry, from consulting, to marketing, to web design, to drone photos/video. I also handle marketing for the TN and LA Self Storage Associations as well as several self storage vendors. In addition, I build websites and provide professional drone photography and video for dozens of other clients across the US.
I've been working in Self Storage for 4 years and general marketing for over 15. I'm also the co-host of the Gabfocus Self Storage Podcast.
My objectives are to serve an organization in the areas of marketing and technology so it can meet its greater goals, to equip an organization for excellence in media production and communication, and to promote the goals and ideas of an organization to their current and potential audience through technology and personal interaction.
Practically this shows itself in graphic/web design, event planning, photography/videography, drone work, podcasting, and digital marketing.
On a day off you'll find me playing disc golf, listening to music, serving at church, playing an intense board game, or playing bass with my band Blackwater Southern.
